狮子电器公司是全电气介质和重型城市车辆的领先制造商，宣布它已选择Joliet，Ill。，为您的美国制造业建设。The new facility will represent the largest dedicated production site for zero-emission medium and heavy-duty vehicles in the U.S. and Lion’s biggest footprint in the market, giving the company the ability to meet the increasing demand in the marketplace for “Made in America” zero-emission vehicles, while simultaneously bringing production closer to its customers. As part of its agreement with the government of Illinois, Lion has committed to an initial investment of at least U.S. $70 million over a 3-year period.
2021年下半年预计建筑斜坡的900,000平方英尺的设施，预计将在未来三年内为该地区增添最低745个清洁能源直接就业机会，年生产能力最高20,000名全电动巴士和卡车。This additional production capacity will aid Lion in scaling electric bus production as the U.S. market moves to electrify a large portion of its school bus fleet, as well as to produce a larger number of heavy-duty zero-emission trucks as governments and operators throughout the U.S. look to decarbonize freight and transportation fleets. Lion anticipates that the first vehicles will roll off the production line in the second half of 2022.
“狮子是电学校车的领导者，一直致力于美国市场，我们承诺接近客户是我们作为公司的核心价值之一。This significant expansion into the U.S. market will not only allow us to drastically increase our overall manufacturing capacity of electric trucks and buses but to also better serve our customers, while adding critical clean manufacturing jobs that will form the backbone of the green economy,” said Marc Bedard, CEO and Founder of Lion. “I also want to acknowledge the crucial role that P33 and Intersect Illinois, civic groups committed to developing developing a long-term roadmap for the local tech industry, played in connecting Lion with the Chicago area’s business and civic community to help further commercial traction, as well as engagement with key workforce and supplier partners.”
“狮子的历史性投资将其最大的生产设施带到伊利诺伊州对我们的社区来说不仅仅是胜利，而是我们努力扩大清洁能源替代品和他们带来社区的工作的强劲进步，”GOV.J.B. Pritzker说。“新的Joliet设施将使伊利诺伊州以国家运动过渡到零排放车辆使用的最前沿，推进我们自己的目标，以便在2030年到2030年在路上推动一百万这些车的目标。在伊利诺伊州，我们知道清洁能源economy is about more than just vehicles – it’s about healthier communities and jobs for those who live there. We are excited to welcome Lion to the Land of Lincoln and look forward to their future success here.”
