What Is Article Marketing?

The terms "affiliate marketing" and "internet marketing" are very broad descriptions that include multiple methods to communicate with prospective customers.

One very popular method that most beginners should try is called article marketing.

So, what is it? And how does it make you money, right?

First you need to grasp the larger concept of what your goals are. You want to attract potential buyers to your affiliate offers. You place links and advertisements on web pages, and when a customer clicks on your link they visit your website, and hopefully make a purchase.

The best way to picture article marketing is like paid advertisements without the paying part. You write an article and submit it to an article directory. The article directory can do whatever they like with the article, and are allowed to share the article with any website they want.

What do you get? Links. Free links. At the bottom of the article you're allowed to place links back to any website you choose.

So a visitor visits the article directory. Reads your article, and if they're interested in finding out more information, they click on the link to visit your website.

That's about it. You exchange articles for free links. The free links will bring you free traffic. The free traffic will translate into sales.

So why doesn't everyone just do article marketing and not pay per click?

Because writing articles can be time consuming, and the conversion rate is usually low.
