Why use article directories? Because Google loves directories and will usually rank articles published on a directory more attention than a blog of your own. Result: the article gets a higher ranking in the search engine and you get lots of traffic.

The best part about using bum marketing is it's free. That's where it got the name from. Any old bum, without any money can use this method. You have to write good articles, on the right topic for this method to pay off.

Social Bookmarking

You've probably heard about the major bookmarking sites (Digg.com, Propeller.com), but you may not know how important they've become for affiliate marketers.

It provides nearly instant traffic, and also gives your website quality backlinks. Backlinks are what Google uses to rate the popularity of your website.

It's always a good idea to use all methods of promotion to cast a wide net and capture the most customers. Concentrating too much on one method and ignoring others, is like leaving money on the table and walking away.
