Another Big Mistake By Yahoo Search Marketing

Yahoo is in a constant struggle to maintain market share among search users and advertisers. Forget about gaining market share, they're trying to stop the bleeding right now. They want to keep everything they have to survive.

Given their battle, you'd think they'd be taking measures to improve customer experience. But rather they've made a profit making move that has internet marketers angry.

In Yahoo's recent policy change for automatic account optimization they've given their search platform the authority to make unapproved changes to an advertisers campaign without any consequences to Yahoo.

Basically, they've given themselves to authority to change ads and keywords without getting your approval. If you lose money because of those changes, Yahoo has relieved themselves of fault. A huge step back for them.

It's another reason Yahoo will always play second fiddle to Google. In all phases of their business plan, Google makes a conscious effort to make the user experience incredibly rewarding.

It will be interesting to watch Yahoo's response to the negative feedback they're receiving. They's stated only 2% of active accounts have received unapproved changes, but they've been flooded with complaints since the policy change went into effect.

If you're new to internet marketing start with Google Adwords. If you're using Yahoo Search Marketing make sure you have an ad spending threshold in place to prevent losing money due to unwanted campaign changes.
